Painting Texas Red

I traveled to Dallas,Tx over the weekend and it was absolutely the best weekend i've had in a long time!
One thing you have to know about me is I adore music..all kinds. A lot of people think i'm so strange when I say I can literally feel it, but I can. I listen to lyrics intently and I feel the meaning behind them. I've always imagined the person sitting there writing the song and how they felt and how they are pouring their heart out for the world to hear...this is actually something i've done since I was a child. I always wondered what happened to make someone write a song like this or if it was a real story or a made up one.  It's really personal and really brave and beautiful if you think about it. Needless to say I just really appreciate music especially the lyrical side of it. The main reason for going to Dallas was of course to see my favorite on her Red Tour.  I LOVE going to concerts...actually it's one of my favorite things to do and anyone who knows me knows i'm a die hard Taylor Swift fan and have been since the very start. I give this tour two thumbs up. It's been so neat to watch her progress as an artist from the very first show I saw of hers back in 2009.  I sometimes get a hard time for being such a hard core fan, but I don't really care because her music has at times been just like words and dreams direct from my own journal...she's relatable and her music is too.

RED TOUR 2013
MAY 25, 2013-DALLAS,TX
BEST MOMENT: She walked through the crowd during "Sparks Fly"... thats my shadowed hand totally "fan girling" over this moment

My camera's not really that great for concert photography, but these are my best two shots. (You can click them to make the larger)
Above: during "State of Grace"
Below: during "Treacherous"

Below are two collages of pictures from my Red Tour day

Ed Sheeran opened for Taylor and he is hands down one of my favorite artists right now and I adore his british accent. He joined Taylor for their song "Everything has Changed"during her set.

This is my favorite because Taylor asked us to all hold up our hands for a picture with her (opening act ED Sheeran also took a similar picture) and she later tweeted this image with the message: "Dallas. Thank you for a memory i'll replay in my mind on rainy days"  This was the biggest show on the tour so far -55,000 people for a sold out show in the Dallas Cowboys Stadium. It was huge and amazing. Though this was my 8th Taylor show i'd never been to one that large either. It was pretty amazing.

The Rest of the trip was fun as well.. we actually found out on the way to Dallas that Elenowen had a show that night in Ft. Worth so we quickly decided to try and make it there on time and we did with time to spare.  They played at this really cute music lounge called The Live Oak.  They were incredible as always and just as genuine and sweet as when we met them in April.

Sunday we went to Six Flags and it was fun, but less than impressive...I think I may blog about this part of the trip later because I have a lot to say.

Overall the trip was a complete success surrounded by one of my favorite things...MUSIC! I wish I lived in a big city with shows going on all the time because I would be a complete concert junky.

Barefoot blue jean nights

"Summer is where girls go barefoot and their hearts are as free as their toes."

Southern summer nights are practically here...it's officially hot outside! Though I always complain about the scorching summer heat...I really do love it too! Its part of who I am and where I'm from. In the south things seem to slow down, there are fun events to attend, pools to fill with friends and family, popsicles and snow cones to eat, BBQs to be had, people seem a little more relaxed..maybe it's simply too hot to do anything but relax.

Being grown up with a full time job of course means no completely free summer days, but my summer is already starting to fill up with exciting trips and fun events and I can't wait! The craziest thing is two of  my very best friends get married to each other this summer!! I can't wait to watch them say 'I do' and start their lives together...it's been a long time coming guys!

There is officially 1 hour and 10 mins standing between me and my first mini vacation! Dallas, Tx here I come! I will update later about this little road trip adventure!

My Summer favorites:
- Sunglasses
-Cute shorts and fun colorful shirts
-Being barefoot
- BUT when shoes are necessary i love comfy shoes rather it be my crocheted toms, sandals or flip flops..i just love comfy breezy summer shoes.
-Ice cold glasses of sweet tea. All this Mississippi heat calls for plenty of hydration.
-Popsicles
-Snow Cones
-Swimming pools
-Crickets chirping
- Green Green grass and pretty flowers
-Sunsets...they just seem even prettier in the summer

Yikes! It's been so long since I've updated! Here's a a few pictures to fill you in on what has been going on in my life.
This was such a fun night! Jessica,Kellie,Chris,Leslie, Ashli and I went to see Elenowen one weekend in April. You might recognize them from NBC's The Voice. We got to talk to them before the show..they were such nice people and put on an amazing show.

Lately I've been scrap-booking again. There's just something really cool to me about making these little pieces of my past into a book of memories. I've started a new one to put all my Disney College Program memories into.
A few weekends ago I got to spend a full day with these two ladies. It happens rarely and it was just legitimately a wonderful day.
Leslie's wedding is coming up soon. This was taken at her Bridal Tea a few weeks ago
after the tea a lot of musical nonsense went down in the car. Check us out on Vine :)

This photo and the one below are from Mother's day. The top is me with my Mama. She's incredible..I don't know how I got so lucky to have such a wonderful, sweet mother and friend.   The bottom photo is of me and my sassy sweet grandmother.

Life has been full but beautiful. I've got some exciting adventures coming up that I can't wait to share!

Just realized I never blogged about my new-ish furry friend! I say newish because I adopted her about 2 months ago and never posted about her! I had been wanting a pet for quite sometime and I always said I would know it when I saw it! I was in love the moment I saw this cutie staring at me through a cage in PetSense. Georgia was a rescue Cat in need of a good home. She went home with me that very day and I have enjoyed giving her a new home. She's been a perfect fit for me.

Flashback Friday

Originally posted: 03/22/13

I said in my first post that I may do a few blogs that were reflecting back on good memories and tonight I was feeling very nostalgic so I thought I'd do a little post on a couple of my favorite days. I have a lot of favorite days in my life this far so I might regularly do some of these flash back posts because I love sharing my stories.

Anyone that knows me knows I'm a Taylor Swift fan and have been since 2006. Love the girl... Her music is real and so relatable and her personality is fun and quirky... she's just as down to earth as she appears to be. This was the day I'd dreamed of June 13, 2010 I finally got to cross  MEET TAYLOR SWIFT off of my bucket list!!! It's a day I'll never forget she was so sweet and  sincere. Kellie and i went just hoping for a chance to meet her but we were really thinking we had no chance and would atleast get to see her perform. It was an exciting screaming running blur when Kellie got a text that she had won meet and greet passes! I was incredibly nervous and I had all these things I wanted to say,but instead I barely remember what I actually ended up talking about  other than forgetting where I was from when she asked. This day is dreamy. I was so happy so care free so completely in awe that I actually got to meet my favorite musician. I was 22 here...funny enough that Taylor would later write a song that perfectly describes my emotions this day!

I could cry just looking at this picture... These three girls standing beside me taught me more in a few months than I could ever explain. Each of them brought something valuable into my life..taught me some kind of wonderful lesson...though they probably don't realize it. It's strange how you can meet people that completely enrich your life in such short periods of time. We were all so different all from different walks of life and different states but some how we were a little bit inseparable for the 5 months we got to spend together..I am so thankful for these moments. I remember wishing for more time with them wishing for more time living this incredible dream of a life working at the Happiest place on earth with all of these fabulous people but Those five months I did get felt long and the memories laughter and tears we shared were plentiful.  Though this picture is from one of  the saddest days the four of us spent together its still my favorite. This was taken on one of our last days all together at the end of our Disney CP.

We all stood here uncertain of what exactly lied ahead of us in the coming months as two of us stayed and 2 of us went home, but some things were always so sure to me...these three girls would always have a place in my heart and i would always remember the magical memories we made together.. no matter the miles I would have their back if ever they needed me. We spent this day at Magic Kingdom as we had many days before. We met Rapunzel and Flynn Rider, rode Pirates of the Carribbean one last time together had dole whips and corn dog nuggets and tackled the list of characters we had not met yet. This is by far one of the best days of my CP. I'm so thankful for each of these girls and what they taught me. I am Forever changed and forever BETTER for knowing each of them. And even now though we don't get to talk or visit that often i still vow a life long friendship to each of them. Love you Trisha, Lauren and Jocelyne

New Orleans Trip

I was in dire need of a cheap little getaway so I headed down to NOLA Saturday morning with Kellie for a much needed break. We shopped around the French quarter and had lunch at Margaritaville where I tried GATOR for the first time! We watched a street show and several other street acts, looked at all the art for sale in front of the cathedral then went to the Aquarium! I'd actually never been to the aquarium here so that was fun. After the aquarium we walked back down to Cafe du Monde for a sweet treat before heading home (Needless to say i broke my diet big time) It was a much needed fun day! Here are some pictures below from the trip

Cafe Du Monde was busy busy as always
